About Warden
edit_squareThe Warden is a mob from Minecraft and a character in Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts. It serves as the deuteragonist of the episode The Warden, where it plays a key role alongside The Second Coming.
Appearance
The Warden retains its usual appearance from Minecraft, towering and imposing with its dark, sculk-covered body and glowing chest. In The King, it temporarily wears a yellow bandana—previously worn by Red—as a symbol of its alliance with the stick figures.
Personality & Characteristics
Initially, the Warden is hostile toward any perceived intruders, attacking anything that creates vibrations. When The Second Coming accidentally disturbs it, the Warden relentlessly chases him, relying on sound and vibration to track his movements due to its blindness.
Despite its aggressive behavior, the Warden is shown to have a more compassionate side. Once the guardian of the Ancient City, it peacefully coexisted with the villagers who once lived there. When The Second Coming plays a melody associated with the ancient civilization, it triggers a memory within the Warden, softening its hostility and allowing it to bond with him.
After allying with The Second Coming, the Warden becomes a reliable and coordinated fighter, especially when guided by its new companion, who rides on its shoulders and helps it navigate battles.
Powers & Abilities
Enhanced Speed: The Warden can cover vast distances in mere seconds. It demonstrated immense agility and speed in its pursuit of King Orange, keeping up despite being briefly immobilized.
Immense Strength: Capable of feats such as leaping from the Deep Dark to the cave ceiling and breaking through Obsidian, the Warden is incredibly powerful. It was able to overwhelm King Orange, even after the latter was enhanced by a gold block.
Vibration Detection: Like a sculk sensor, the Warden senses vibrations to locate targets. While this makes it formidable, it also means it can be distracted by thrown objects.
Sculk Link: The Warden can hide within or emerge from sculk flora, and reacts to disturbances in sculk sensors.
Block Breaking: Thanks to its strength, the Warden can destroy blocks—something it does in its pursuit of targets, even through walls.
Partner Synchronization: When paired with someone like The Second Coming, the Warden becomes significantly more effective. It mimics fighting stances based on sound cues and can work in perfect sync with its rider.
Sonic Boom (Sound Manipulation): By amplifying vibrations into sound waves, the Warden unleashes its signature long-range attack, the Sonic Boom. Although all in-game Wardens have this ability, it's not shown in AVA until The King.
