About Orb
edit_squareTable of Contents
The Orb is the primary antagonist of Lucky Blocks and Lucky Block Staff. It is a mysterious, radiant sphere of light capable of generating the randomized items found within Lucky Blocks.
Personality
Despite its seemingly elemental nature, the Orb displays a degree of sentience—or at least semi-sentience. It has been shown to possess both people and objects, most notably Yellow and his staff, after Red inserted a Lucky Block into it. At first, it appears to serve the will of its wielder, allowing Yellow to conjure fantastical creations far beyond normal Minecraft capabilities. However, the Orb gradually overpowers Yellow, eventually taking control of his body.
Once in control of a host, the Orb becomes overtly aggressive and lashes out at others. It is capable of simultaneously possessing multiple targets, treating any perceived disruption to the Lucky Dimension as a threat. When Red's experimentation with the Lucky Block altered the function of transport blocks, the Orb exploited this to cross dimensions and seize control of the Lucky Block staff.
Upon discovering that the staff could amplify the block it housed, the Orb began using it to rebuild its temple into a colossal staff-shaped structure. This structure allowed it to mass-produce alternate staffs, each empowered by different Minecraft block abilities—highlighting its growing desire for expansion and control.
The Orb exhibits cunning intelligence, strategically manipulating Red’s tampering to its benefit. It not only replicates and distributes its powered staffs to mobs and objects alike, but also constructs an elaborate network of tools in its own image. It shows an instinct for combat tactics, frequently choosing the fastest route to neutralize a threat—such as trapping foes in bedrock, launching targeted attacks like redstone-powered lasers, or stealing weapons instead of confronting enemies head-on.
Powers & Abilities
Minecraft-based Creation: The Orb can spawn both normal and unique Minecraft entities, including mobs and structures.
Possession: The Orb can possess others by touching or beaming a small orb onto their forehead. While initial possession requires direct contact with the item’s user, subsequent possessions can occur through ranged attacks.
Possessed Abilities:
Creation: Like the Lucky Block, the host can generate mobs and items.
Manipulation: The Orb can morph or restructure surrounding blocks and entities while possessing the staff.
Staff Duplication: When merged with the Lucky Block staff, the Orb can replicate it and assign different powers to each copy. These can be wielded by its allies or controlled by itself.
Black Hole Recall (Misinterpreted Ability): The Orb can trigger a portal-like effect, pulling itself and nearby entities back into the Lucky Dimension. (Note: This is a transportation function, not a true black hole.)
Weaknesses
Helmets: Physical headgear reduces the chance or slows the process of possession.
Brute Force: A strong enough impact can break possession and eject the Orb from its host. If forced back to its pedestal in the Lucky Dimension, it emits a powerful shockwave that deletes all orbs left behind in other areas.
Barrier Blocks: Even with the power of the staff, the Orb cannot override or destroy these blocks, making them one of the few safe countermeasures against it.
