About Node
edit_squareTable of Contents
"Node", also known as I, Eye or Ai is the main antagonist of Story Mode in Animation VERSUS, an upcoming Animator vs. Animation fighting game. There is currently very little information about this character, though it was revealed that they are "entangled with a node network".
Appearance
Node possesses the same body type as the rest of the basic stick figures, but seems to be, for some reason, transparent. They have white nodes on each end of their limbs, as well as one in the middle of their head, which connects to the rest that float outside of their body. Incidentally, this makes their body look like an "i" and the node in their head look like an eye, which may be the origin for their name.
It was also stated that their design is not yet finalized, so this all may be subject to change in the future.
In the earliest concept art, Node was a basic solid-headed white stick figure.
Personality
One can only make guesses about Node's personality, as absolutely no information has been provided so far. Based on the picture they originate from, Node's posture and position relative to King Orange, The Dark Lord and The Chosen One could potentially indicate that they are wrathful, or perhaps even vengeful.
Powers & Abilities
Based on the picture Node originates from, there are a few potential abilities they could possess. The most obvious and likely one is flight, as Node can be seen floating above King Orange, The Dark Lord and The Chosen One. The other most obvious one is the node network they seem to possess a certain control over. However, the way they function, and their practical use is unclear at this time.
Another potential power could be some type of pyrokinesis, as purple flame-like shapes can be seen surrounding Node, though their exact nature remains a mystery at this time.
One last potential ability could be related to the black goo-like/tar-like material that the three stick figures below Node seem to be trapped in. Whether this is a direct result of one of Node's abilities, or due to an outside factor, is completely unknown at this time.
Trivia
This character bears a resemblance to the stick figure featured in Animators vs. Games's UNDERTALE series' thumbnails, though said stick figure is not canon to Animator vs. Animation series.
Node was confirmed to be Character #11 coming to Animation VERSUS as a stretch goal reward.
There is a likely connection between Node (as shown in the concept art book), and the node network seen across all of Animation VERSUS.
Node is one of two original characters in Animation VERSUS, the other being The Conductor.
Node's design had a few tweaks from the concept art to the final design:
Node had an average stick figure build, but in the final design they appear to be taller, similar to King Orange.
Node was only the colour white in early concept art, whereas their final look makes them a transparent white with white nodes on their hands, feet and centre of their head.
Node's early concept art included these purple fireballs (most likely as an attack). While it is possible that they will still have the ability to use these purple fireballs, it seems that their new more notable attack is connected to the node network surrounding them.
